This Site is dedicated to all those families of the people that have tragically disappeared on flights in and around New Zealand. I only hope that from all the effort in building this site and from all the effort of those taking part in this venture, that it will bear fruit in bringing ‘closure’ to their memories!

You’ll note in the image below showing our GPS tracks on our first search on the
18th November 2018, that I have all but covered it anyway... if it was likely to
have been obvious (the green track was mine).
The problem is, after all these years, what is likely to be left to be seen anyway?
At the time of my visit, and the day we searched, I was unsure of what direction
this
plane had approached this valley and as there was a Report of a woman at Craven
that saw a plane fly over the Township and down towards Stroud Mountain, I thought
that maybe this was the direction it had come from, and so I also had another possible
search area... the red triangular area shown to right in this image below. I did
have
this shape of this search area on my handheld Garmin GPS, but I did not venture any
further towards the southern area as it looked very open and there was a fairly new
boundary fence there showing that it had been frequented by fencers not that long
ago, so it seemed a bit pointless.
This plane that was seen flying over Craven down towards Stroud Mountain, I now think
is most likely Cessna 210 VH-ESV returning to Williamtown after his search, or maybe
even earlier on it’s flight down from Toowomba... seeing as there was no time given
of the observation.
At this point, I’d like to apologise to the owners of the land that we searched (shown
by our GPS tracks). We were under the impression that we had permission to enter
this land, but it turns out the person who gave us this, thought we were talking
of an
area that he leased. However, we left the place the way we found it, so I guess there’s
no harm done. I tried to ring this owner, but it comes up with “We don’t recognise
this number!”
You may think this is all... but wait... At the time of writing this update, I have
made another discovery that may help back this search area up!
