This Site is dedicated to all those families of the people that have tragically disappeared on flights in and around New Zealand. I  only hope that from all the effort in building this site and from all the effort of those taking part in this venture, that it will bear fruit in bringing ‘closure’ to their memories!

The next trip there I went with Martin and a couple of friends. One of them used to work on North Head, could remember this tunnel but was uncertain where it was any more due to the elaborate camouflage job. In this photo one of my friends is stepping out the railway sleeper indentations.

As you can see, the cliff face looks very original, but on closer inspection, it appears to be breaking away in places, probably from subsidence effects from over the years.

There is a complete line of rock that appears to be breaking away at about the height of one of the eyewitnesses claim of the tunnel being around 8 ft high. By standing back and taking a photo using a telephoto lens of this anomaly, you can see what appears to be a substance like common soil just inside a small section that has broken away completely.
