“LOST ...without trace?” (215 pages) was published in 2005 by
well-known Aviation Historian Richard Waugh as a result of 25
years of research! In his book, Richard explored the history of the
fledging airline “Air Charter” and included the many conflicting
reported observations of the final flight of one of New
Zealand’s earliest tourist ventures that went terribly wrong.
His book became the main catalyst in inspiring me to do my own
research into tracing the tragic flight of DH90A Dragonfly
ZK-AFB. This was to attempt to locate the final resting place of
this graceful old airliner and her unfortunate occupants.
After thousands of hours of very extensive research, as well as
several air and ground searches, I now present my findings and
my story of the incredible adventures that this has taken me
through!
My book “TRACED ...yet still missing!” (165 pages) is a
follow-on from Richard’s incredible book and examines each
observation given to Search Headquarters at the time, and
others that have arisen since, step by step - from a pilot’s
perspective. I’ve discovered that this whole mystery has been
like a giant jig-saw puzzle just waiting for someone to come
along and put the pieces together! Included also is the strong
evidence I have that suggest the locations of two further aeroplanes,
Corsair NZ5517 (1944) and Cessna 180 ZK-BMP (1978). Both
mysteriously disappeared also. The compelling evidence that
I have found on all three aircraft will fascinate you!
