This Site is dedicated to all those families of the people that have tragically disappeared on flights in and around New Zealand. I  only hope that from all the effort in building this site and from all the effort of those taking part in this venture, that it will bear fruit in bringing ‘closure’ to their memories!

As it turned out, sadly, it was option 3.

I was stunned when I got the news as I was so sure the outcome was going to be very positive!

I was away from home when I got the news, and when I got home I spent hours comparing my photo to that of Jeremy’s. Initially, I thought that maybe the helicopter could have been washed further down the hill due to the heavy rainfall in the area, but after comparing every rock and tree’s position and shape, I eventually confirmed that it was only a rock!

The difficulty comparing them was caused due to the different angle that Jeremy had taken the photos from, to that of mine. My photo had also been taken from about ½ a mile away, whereas Jeremy’s were from about 50 ft above it. The rock in his photo has dried out and lost most of its greenness, whereas it had been raining the day before I took my photo.

The reason I’m publishing all this on this site is to show the difficulties and frustrations of trying to find anything in this bush!

Many, many thanks once again to James Scott and Alpine Adventures, who has, through his generosity made the elimination of this possibility, possible.
