This Site is dedicated to all those families of the people that have tragically disappeared on flights in and around New Zealand. I  only hope that from all the effort in building this site and from all the effort of those taking part in this venture, that it will bear fruit in bringing ‘closure’ to their memories!

Southland Times 12-03-11.jpg Previous page. Previous page.

The Southland Times newspaper did a front page article on what we have discovered on this disappearance to date, and apart from inferring that I had actually found the exact crash site, it was a very good article.

As a result of this article, I was contacted by Danilo Hegg giving me a link to a photo on his website showing a piece of wreckage in an area west of Lake Quill. Unfortunately, we identified this wreckage to be off an early model Hughes 300 helicopter (Model 269A) and not the Hughes 500.

After looking over the rest of his site, I found that he had some awesome photos and two of them showed the north east rock face of Mt Hart where I believe was the most likely crash site of ZK-HNW. Had he known at the time the importance of this area, I’m sure he would have taken a lot more!  I have linked these photos to his site as it is very worthy  of a good look - just left click on them.
