This Site is dedicated to all those families of the people that have tragically disappeared on flights in and around New Zealand. I only hope that from all the effort in building this site and from all the effort of those taking part in this venture, that it will bear fruit in bringing ‘closure’ to their memories!

Update 29 January 2013
I was contacted again yesterday by the hunter spoken of on page 11 on this subject.
He recently had the opportunity to fly in and around the Lake Alabaster area and
discovered that he had got his memory of his hunting trips mixed up.
The wreckage he had found was not in the Chair Creek area, but in the entrance into
the Barrier River Valley!
This now begs yet another whole scenario as it is interesting in that Kevin Hallett
claimed that he had watched the aircraft that he had seen, turn into what he had
thought was the Olivine/Forgotten Rivers area, a distance of a little over seven
miles away from where he was at the time of his observation. A distance that I find
a little unbelievable, and yet if the wreckage that this hunter found is from ZK-BMP,
then that would place the distance of just over 10 miles distant!
I do feel that my scenario of ZK-BMP ending up south of Manapouri is still possibly
the correct one, but as always, I am prepared to be wrong... in fact, I’m happy to
be proven wrong, as that means that they have finally been found .... The whole purpose
of all my efforts!
This wreckage had to have come from something, so if anyone knows of any other aircraft
that has crashed in that area, please let me know.
This means that there is now another area for all you hunters, helicopter pilots/trampers,
etc., to keep a sharp eye out if ever you are in the Barrier River catchment area
shown as outlined in red in the Google Earth snapshot below:
