This Site is dedicated to all those families of the people that have tragically disappeared on flights in and around New Zealand. I only hope that from all the effort in building this site and from all the effort of those taking part in this venture, that it will bear fruit in bringing ‘closure’ to their memories!

Martin was interested in the seven photos dating from 1940 to 1973 as these were
all before the time North Head was “altered” by earthworks, so I ordered these in
digital form, plus the 1975 one as I wanted to see what and where the earth works
were.
In due course, the photos arrived, I took copies of them and sent the originals off
to Martin.
I then set about trying to learn where everything was located. I mainly did this
by overlaying all eight NZAM photos on Google Earth and then I obtained a good resolution
version of the 1946 Plan N.W.1104 “Sheet 1 of 12” (page 164 in TUNNEL VISION) from
Martin, and overlaid that also.

From there, I was now able to position each photo to coincide with the buildings,
Gun embankments, etc. By turning the photos ‘on and off’, and also fading them in
and out, it made it easy to see what had changed over the years.

As most of the objects on the page were named, it also made it a lot easier to go
through the many eye-witness sworn affidavits documented in TUNNEL VISION and work
out the possible locations of where these old, now hidden, tunnel entrances were.
I must admit that after a recent visit to North Head (as a result of reading TUNNEL
VISION) it did appear that maybe the Army, Navy, and DOC’s vehement denials of there
being any missing tunnels was correct, as there was no physical evidence that I could
see readily of further tunnels. Two of the eye-witness reports shown on Martin’s
web site, M3 & M12: http://tunnelvision.net.nz/index.php/information/more rang
very true with me as I had the same experience as they did when I came out of one
of the existing tunnels when I was there.... I thought I was in someone’s garden,
and that garden was at the top end of Jubilee Street as per their memories! This
demonstrated to me that if that part of their recollection, was accurate, it only
stands to reason that the rest of their memories were most likely to be also, ....
contrary to a Judge claiming otherwise!
