weather appeared to be turning for the worse so I decided that the best chance of survival (I had to leave my back-pack on top of the mountain, with my tent, food, etc., in it, as it was too steep to attempt to bring it down with me) was to continue on down the side of the mountain down to the shelter of the Dept. of Conservation huts far below me. I had hoped that while I was descending, that I might just come across the wreck, but alas, this was not to be as the area I wanted to check out was becoming too dangerous and so I had to reluctantly divert away from the area to find a suitable way down the side of the mountain.

To cut a long story short, (you’ll be able to read about it in my book when I get it finished) I eventually had to walk out to the coast which was miles away and I was ‘rescued’ the next day by the helicopter!
This site is another one that I feel could be easily sorted out with a Magnetometer or SAR so it is my intention to revisit this site also.
Many, many thanks to James Scott, Ken Hutchins (the other pilot), Jeremy Arthur, and Blair Patterson - all of Alpine Adventures, who helped me out tremendously and made the visits to these two sites possible!
